The Healthy Pregnancy Group and Child Birth Education Classes are run on an as needs basis.

If you would like to request a class, please contact one of the Winnunga midwives – Gem, Lianne or Kristie (Aboriginal Access Worker).

The groups cover information on pregnancy and birthing, substance use, smoking during pregnancy, SIDS, breastfeeding and nutrition. The groups also provides an opportunity for pregnant women to meet and talk about any concerns or issues they’re experiencing.

The Social Health Team also runs health promotion campaigns and community activities. One of their main aims is to promote pride in Aboriginal culture.
