The Australian Nurse-Family Partnership Program (ANFPP) is a nurse-led home visitation program for first time mums (or first time mothering), who are having an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander baby
The ANFPP team starts the engagement process as early as possible –from weeks 16-28 of pregnancy. From there we continue to develop a therapeutic relationship with mum and her baby over the first 2 years of the baby’s life. During this time we walk beside mum and the family, and help identify goals, and strategies to achieve those goals. We assist with health, child development, and family needs, as well as the home and future plans. The ANFPP is a culturally sensitive program, employing Aboriginal Family Partnership Workers.
