Connected Beginnings is a program for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children between the ages of 0-5 who have health, behavioral or social and emotional relation concerns.
The Connected Beginnings program works with families to ensure children are happy, healthy, feel safe and are well prepared for school. This is done through recognising and identifying any issues and by early intervention.
The program aims to embed continuity of supports and services within education and health/human services to maximise school engagement and attendance throughout the child’s school years.
Parents play the most important role as a child’s first teacher in these foundation years and throughout life. Parents have the biggest impact on children’s learning. Children learn by doing, touching, tasting, smelling, seeing, hearing, and through sharing their understanding of these things with others.
